Following MP3 blogs with The Hype Machine
Some time ago now I've been following some MP3 blogs (ie, music blogs where the songs that are being talked about are available for download). I've discovered some cool music but the process of downloading every song was tedious and reading every post to decide whether I should download its songs was not an option. Finally I desisted and forgot all these blogs.
But recently I've discovered The Hype Machine, this site tracks a bunch of MP3 blogs bringing it together in a single place. It may sound like the typical planet of blogs but it has two great functionalities: it acts as a playlist of these blogs music and it allows you to search for any tracked song.
Maybe this site is not for everyone as you will not hear a lot of mainstream music but, isn't this the point? Anyway give it a try, put your favorite artist into the search box and listen to the resulting songs: maybe you discover a very rare song you've never heard.
